Our client, a specialist company operating within the Rail Industry is seeking to employ a Safety Manager to be based in their West Yorkshire office.

The purpose of this role is to ensure that the Rail business complies with all appropriate H&S Legislation requirements. You will carry out a range of activities related to health, safety, environmental and quality management in consultation with the relevant managers within the business.

You will be responsible for conducting internal audits and reports to ensure certification to the required standards and be the point of contact for external auditors to manage the Network Rail Principal Contractors License and Achilles Link-up.

It is essential that you will have an NVQ5 in H&S or NEBOSH Diploma and be a member of a professional body. Ideally you will have experience of ISO9001 and be PTS qualified. You will have a comprehensive background in H&S Management Systems, exposure to trackside work in the heavy rail industry and ideally experience of developing safety practices in a start up business.

You must have a NEBOSH diploma and experience of strategic development at a senior management level.   • Implementation of SQE policy and group standards at all infrastructure operational sites, offices and depots throughout the UK
  • Resourcing and managing a team of SQE professionals to support policy implementation.
