I have compiled a list of 2013′s ten most popular food safety articles on theEHP. This list has been complied by analysing the most viewed articles on the site.
1. Food Safety: HPA Study shows poor hygiene practices at mobile food vendors
Research from the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed that food, water, chopping boards, cleaning cloths and security wristbands sampled from mobile and outdoor food vendors were contaminated with a range of bacteria including E.coli. This bacteria, which originates from human or animal faeces indicates either poor hygiene, undercooking or cross-contamination in the kitchen.
2. Food Safety: Street Spice Festival outbreak investigation concludes
Health experts from Public Health England (PHE) and Newcastle City Council have concluded their investigation into the outbreak of illness associated with the Street Spice Festival, held in Newcastle between 28 February and 2 March 2013.
3. Food Safety: Hotel loses appeal against food hygiene fines

The FSA provides help for officers to develop their knowledge through training tools, professional courses and funding for local authority-led work. For officers currently looking at their development plans, the Agency has added two new tools to the Enforcement section of the website.
