The Atkins Land & Development division is a multidisciplinary environmental and engineering team. Within Land & Development, the Birmingham Geo-environmental Engineering team is seeking an engineering geologist to assist in its workload of investigating, assessing and remediating / regenerating contaminated sites for redevelopment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is seeking to further an engineering geology career with a geo-environmental bias. The successful applicant should be stimulated by fresh challenges and seek to surmount them in a practical way. The applicant will have, or be close to obtaining, chartered status and will be sufficiently competent to mentor more junior staff and to encourage the development of engineering skills within the department and within other UK offices. The successful candidate will be logical, practical and enthusiastic engineer with good interpersonal and communication skills, and will complement the existing team.

You will be involved in a range exciting projects and will work collaboratively across a broad range of market sectors. You will prepare land quality and wider environmental desk studies, collating information from a variety of data sources to prepare concise reports of your findings. You will also collate and interpret geological and chemical data sets obtained from ground investigations you supervise and prepare interpretative reports.

A Geotechnical / Geo-Enivornmental Engineer is required to join an environmentally conscious organisation providing sustainable engineering solutions to the construction industry, local authorities and land owners.The successful applicant will have 2-5 years experience and be required to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of their subject and a proven ability to deliver.
