Our client, a specialist company operating within the Rail Industry is seeking to employ a Safety Manager to be based in their West Yorkshire office.
The purpose of this role is to ensure that the Rail business complies with all appropriate H&S Legislation requirements. You will carry out a range of activities related to health, safety, environmental and quality management in consultation with the relevant managers within the business.
You will be responsible for conducting internal audits and reports to ensure certification to the required standards and be the point of contact for external auditors to manage the Network Rail Principal Contractors License and Achilles Link-up.
It is essential that you will have an NVQ5 in H&S or NEBOSH Diploma and be a member of a professional body. Ideally you will have experience of ISO9001 and be PTS qualified. You will have a comprehensive background in H&S Management Systems, exposure to trackside work in the heavy rail industry and ideally experience of developing safety practices in a start up business.

You must have a NEBOSH diploma and experience of strategic development at a senior management level. You will demonstrate the ability to lead on major HSE issues within an organisation of similar size, a confidence to challenge and influence policy and the skills to successfully communicate and engage with various stakeholders.

Infrastructure Compliance Manager
- Implementation of SQE policy and group standards at all infrastructure operational sites, offices and depots throughout the UK
- Resourcing and managing a team of SQE professionals to support policy implementation.
- Maintaining proficiency and competency levels to current standards for self and own staff.

- Development and maintenance of McNicholas Group and Rail SQE Policies and Procedures necessary to ensure compliance with Railway Group and Company standards, ISO standards, current applicable legislation and Network Rail Licence Requirements.
- Development and implementation of the annual Infrastructure strategy with the Infrastructure Managing Director and Group Compliance Director.
- Development and maintenance of audit and inspection programmes for Infrastructure to ensure compliance with policy and procedures.
