Hundreds of thousands of homes present a health hazard due to cold temperatures, a new study has shown.
A Chartered Institute for Environmental Health investigation conducted on behalf of Friends of the Earth found that the 655,800 rented homes receiving low energy-efficiency ratings were costing the NHS £145 million annually to treat people who have contracted illnesses as a result.
