Peter Thacker, licensee of the pub in Daiglen Drive, pleaded guilty to the breach which took place in February this year.

On Monday, 17 September Basildon Magistrates heard that a noise abatement notice was served on Mr Thacker in November 2011 after loud music was heard coming from the pub disturbing residents.

A similar incident happened in February and was witnessed by Environmental Protection Officers. Mr Thacker pleaded guilty by post.

Cllr Angie Gaywood, Thurrock Council’s portfolio holder for Public Protection said: “This prosecution demonstrates that Thurrock Council will not tolerate noise nuisance and this case should serve as a reminder to businesses to act responsibly in the community and respect their neighbours.”
