A successful prosecution has been taken by Three Rivers District Council following an investigation into an accident in which an employee fell on the staircase resulting in a major injury.
On the 01 May at Bodmin Magistrates Court, Martin McColls Ltd, a national chain of newsagent/confectioners operating over twelve hundred stores across the country, pleaded guilty to twelve serious health and safety offences and was fined £25,000.

The Company was fined £350,000 and prosecuting, Warwick District Council was awarded costs of £145,000 at a Crown Court hearing at Warwickshire Justice Centre, Leamington Spa on 24 April 2012.
