Provisional estimates for Quarter 2 of 2011/12 of local authority collected waste generation and management for England and the regions have been published.
Defra has published official figures for annual UK carbon footprint for the years 1990 to 2009. It describes carbon dioxide emissions relating to goods and services produced by UK business and consumed by UK residents, and those emissions relating to imported goods. The release also provides new estimates of emissions of total greenhouse gases associated with UK consumption.

The release gives headline estimates for the number of insulated homes and a summary of how these estimates are derived from different data sources.
The Court of Appeal has rejected Government attempts to overturn last month’s High Court ruling that it’s proposed cuts to Feed-in Tariffs would be illegal.
The High Court has ruled that Government plans to rush through cuts to solar tariff payments are unlawful. This was in response to a legal challenge by Friends of the Earth and two solar firms – Solarcentury and HomeSun.
