The Welsh Government has released it’s new housing White Paper ‘Homes for Wales: A White Paper for Better Lives and Communities‘. White Paper includes plans to introduce a mandatory registration and accreditation scheme for private landlords, letting agents and management agents.

The research report sets out how people are using their homes now, what they look for when choosing a home and what they think needs to happen to improve the home-buying experience. The report, the first of its kind for over 50 years.

This week at theEHP we report on a fatal accident at Warwick Castle, FSA research on FHRS, RPT Decisions & prosecutions.

Merlin Attractions Operations Ltd, the company that operates Warwick Castle, were recently convicted of failing to protect the health and safety of visitors. In this Warwick DC case, a visitor to Warwick Castle suffered fatal head injuries when he fell 13-14 ft from the Bear & Clarence Bridge into the dry moat below. A new national task force has been set up to tackle the issue of “beds in sheds” by taking action against criminal landlords and removing illegal immigrants. the task force will find ways to close down thousands of sheds and outbuildings being rented out illegally to migrants, including some with no right to be in the UK.
