Following a fatal fire on 29 April 2011 at 546 Coldhams Lane, the landlord Darius Valiulis of Neville Road Cambridge, was prosecuted by Cambridge City Council for breaches of the Management of Houses in Multiple Occupation Regulations 2006, and fined a total of £10,000 plus £6,000 costs. Mr Valiulis admitted that he owned another three rental properties, which have now been inspected by council officers.
A landlord is to pay £2,125 in fines and £1,815 costs to Reading Borough Council after admitting he failed to keep a property in East Reading in a fit state for tenants.

This is an Appeal against a decision by Nottingham City Council to refuse to vary a licence. The Midland Panel refused the Appellant’s application to vary the existing HMO licence.
This case involves two sets of premises and is regarding HMO Licensing in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. The London Panel determined that both properties constituted as a licensable HMO, and that the Respondents are to pay the Local Authority £500 in costs.
