A new study has been published today that investigates the links between fine air-borne particulate matter (PM) and patient survival after hospital admission for acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The study found death rates increased with increased exposure to PM2.5. Full details are available here, including a links to the research document and an editorial.

A number of local authorities have provided additional data for our recent Statistical Release. We have delayed updating the release for a further week to allow other local authorities to provide additional data. It would be appreciated if you would provide the following details for each prosecution.

On Friday 25 January at Redhill Magistrates’ Court, Alexander Berry, of Anderson House, Tooting SW17 0HL, pleaded guilty to failing in his duty of care, passing waste to someone not authorised to take it and without the appropriate paperwork, with the result the waste was flytipped.

Luton Council is reminding residents that anyone caught littering will be prosecuted. Caroline Turner of Abbey Road was found guilty at Luton Magistrates Court of littering from her car in August 2012.
