According to SpareRoom.co.uk, shared houses with six or more bedrooms are the fastest-growing property type on their site. They have seen a 59% surge in rooms available in bigger house shares with six or more bedrooms, a 51% increase in rooms in five-bedroom house shares and a 43% rise in rooms in four-bedroom house shares. The figures are significantly higher in the capital. These rises appear to be caused by an increased demand for lower rents. Read the full article here.

Food Safety: Banbury Fried Chicken roasted for food hygiene breaches
The manager of a Banbury fast food takeaway was in court this week for unsafe food-handling practices. At Banbury Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 18, 36-year old restaurant manager Arif Hussain pleaded guilty to 10 breaches of the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006.

House shares with six or more bedrooms are the fastest-growing property type on SpareRoom.co.uk, as landlords react to increased demand for lower rents. But as the cost of living soars and demand for rooms in larger properties increases, the trend could lead to a growth in unlicensed ‘houses in multiple occupation’ (HMOs).

A closure order has been served on a house in Salford after residents terrorised the local community. Salford City Council applied for the three month premises closure order on the address on Duncan Street, Salford, supported by Greater Manchester Police.
Housing: Salford fined £10,000 for illegal landlord
A Salford landlord who failed to licence 20 flats has been fined £10,000. Jamsheed Kamali, 55, of Wilmslow Road, Mottram St Andrew, pleaded guilty to 20 offences of operating flats in Wellington Street West, Broughton, without a landlord licence when he appeared at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester on Friday 21 September.
