Rents recorded their largest monthly increase in a year in August, according to the latest Buy‐to‐Let Index from LSL Property Services plc.

Housing: New AST Threshold to affect Deposit Protections in Wales
Landlords in Wales with tenancies up to £100,000 a year, will automatically default to an Assured Shorthold Tenancy (AST) from the 1st December 2011. If the landlord has taken a deposit for such a tenancy, it may need to be protected.
Housing: NLA survey reveals Housing Benefit cap to affect 3/4 of Landlords
A survey conducted by the National Landlords Association (NLA) in October 2011, has found that Government caps on housing benefit payments could force over three quarters of landlords out of the Local Housing Allowance (LHA) market. The survey consisted of 528 landlords.
